Dr. Madow performs a complete psychiatric evaluation, which consists of a verbal interview with the patient about the chief complaint, medical history, family history, psychosocial history, and a mental status examination. At the conclusion, he will determine the appropriate course of action.

How long does it take for the medication to work?
All psychotropic medication requires at least 4-6 weeks to take effect.

Does the patient have to go back to see Dr. Madow after the initial visit?
Yes, Dr. Madow requires all patients follow up with him on a regular basis as long as they are taking medications he prescribes. Follow-up visits are typically 15 minutes or less, which is standard at most psychiatrists' offices.
