He completed his internship at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Massachusetts Mental Health Center, a teaching facility of the Harvard Medical School.  He taught at Harvard Medical School for fifteen years.  He has been in private practice for over thirty years.
